🧣 Winter Yoga Protocol: Ashtanga Yoga is designed to heat the body from the inside out using a particular kind of breath called “Ujjayi” pranayama. Commonly called “free breathing with sound” when applied to the Ashtanga Yoga postures, the breath creates an incredible resonance inside of our skull that we can fix our attention to, while at the same time heating the body from the inside out. Quite often, it can be useful to do a few extra sun salutations first thing in the morning. Don’t be shy about making the first few down dogs only a breath or two, too. This speeds things up a bit, which gets the body pliable and activated.
