Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga
Doors open at 6:15am Monday-Thursday, and assistance begins at 7:30.
In order to receive instruction, folks should contact the teacher ahead of time, and arrive after 7:30. Those with familiarity are welcome arrive at a time that suits them best. We value accessibility, diversity, and pragmatism as a general rule of thumb, and encourage a practice environment that honors that.
Beginners are welcome! In order to begin, a commitment of 2 days a week of practice is required. You will be taught how to practice piece-by-piece. This requires dedication on the student's part to learn (and maybe even study). But this level of commitment is essential for real progress in yoga-- and we want to teach our students how to find success in their yoga practice.
If you're curious, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Led Primary Series
Led Primary Series is a dynamic and powerful type of vinyasa yoga practice.
Generally, we complete the full primary series in 75 minutes. This class is not appropriate for most beginners nor is it a particularly great way to understand or learn Ashtanga Yoga. For those looking to learn Ashtanga as it is, we highly recommend the Mysore class.
For those curious about how we structure our tinme: Each practice includes pranayama, meditation and/or a dharma talk. Students coming from other shalas are welcome! In our space, you're welcome to move faster or slower, and every posture and transition is always optional. We ask that you do your best to radiate loving kindness and to be gracious in our space.
For those that aren't familiar with Ashtanga, but have a strong background in the movement arts, you'll likely be fine (if occasionally confused). Ashtanga's a lot of fun. Its a set sequence of postures that are linked together through breath and movement. It begins with Surya Namaskara A and B, followed by standing postures, a seated sequence, and a closing sequence.
This class is designed to develop strength and flexibility, improve balance and coordination, and increase focus and concentration.
